What are the Responsibilities of Water and Sewer Operations?
Water and Sewer Operations include:- Water and sewage treatment plants
- Pumping stations
- Storage facilities
- Water mains
- Sewers
- Fire hydrants
- In addition to other appurtenances
What Do They Test the Water For?
Water and sewer operations test the water for three main components;- Microbiological components are monitored at least once a week,
- Organic/inorganic materials are monitored yearly, and
- Operational features are monitored hourly.
Water Treatment
There are nine water treatment plants located within the District Municipality of Muskoka. Reports on the routine monitoring at each plant are provided quarterly.
The municipal water quality reports describe in detail the monitoring results.
These reports detail:- Organic parameters sampled
- Inorganic parameters tested
- Operational testing completed
