Highway 60 Water Treatment Plant in Huntsville


The Water Treatment Plant serving the town of Huntsville was constructed in 1988. The treatment process consists of chemically assisted coagulation-flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, disinfection by chlorination, fluoridation and pH adjustment. The capacity of the plant is 9,000 cubic meters per day with provisions for expansion to the ultimate capacity of 22,500 cubic meters per day. The water source is Fairy Lake, a fairly large and clear body of water. The intake is located in 15 meters of water, about 280 meters from shore.
